what should i do with ovarian cysts?
I recently had a check up done with the gynecologist and she said I’ve got ovarian cysts. The usual treatment for this is taking birth control but I don’t really want to do this. Is there another way I can get rid of them? Or if I don’t take them, what are the consequences of not treating it? Should I be worried?
Usually taking the birth control will shrink the cysts and they will go away (providing your gynaecologist is correct that they are not harmful cysts) I would take the birth control it is not going to hurt you. Consequences of them not being treated is commonly that they may grow bigger and then you may require surgery to remove them. I’d personally rather have them shrink away than go through surgery

If it continues to grow then you might have to get it surgically remove which is will hurt your pocket more than monthly $10 copay for birth control.

Have them surgically removed, my friend and my cousin recently had to have ovarian cysts removed, it’s just a day surgery and yes you should treat them, both my cousin and friend had left theres or other methods weren’t working and they went through excruciating pain.
Fix it!!! don’t just let it go and seriously consider the birth control, whats the harm? especially when it could get rid of them.

They normally go away on their own. It takes a little time.
I had them also over Thanksgiving one year and wow that hurt. They lasted about a week. I couldn’t even button my jeans. I had to wear a big shirt…lol
But, seriously, they do go away. Don’t be worried. They are usually benign.

Do you mean in the inside of the ovaries or on the out? If it is in, then the common way to treat it is with the pill. It is a particular pill that provides the user with hormones to help with acne and extra body hair that is typical with those with pcos (polycystic-ovarian syndrome). I have pcos – and so do many women, i have chosen to live a healthy lifestyle instead of taking the pill. This works for me well. With a healthy lifestyle is eating 3 main meals a day with exercise and plenty of water. Between meals if i get hungry i eat a serve of fruit and exercise 30 min a day.
If they are on the out – then it is typically sugery but if your doctor didn’t suggest it then you prob just need to keep checking up on it
