Can having an ovarian cyst cause pain in other locations in my abdomen?

I have a ovarian cyst on my left ovary.. The reason why they found this is because they gave me and ultrasound because I was having pain on the right in between my belly button and hip. Could the cyst be causing this pain or are they unrelated?

Thats a good question for your doctor. But when I had my ovarian cyst I was in pain all over my abdomen. At first I thought I had gas…but it turned out I had an ovarian cyst grow to the size of a grapefruit. B/c I was prego at the time, the prego hormone was feeding it. Turned out the cyst was so large that it cause my fallopian tube (left side) to twist and cut off blood supply to my ovary. So I was in mega pain due to a dead ovary!!! I was also 11 1/2 weeks pregnant. The docs took out the benign cyst and ovary. All went well and even my pregnancy. I had a healthy baby girl

Been functioning on one ovary ever since. And u know what? That ovary worked so well that five months after I gave birth, I got pregnant again!!! LOL!! Then had another baby almost 3 yrs. later

Life kinda throws us all kinds of curve balls, huh.

But, yah, u should ask your doctor about the location of the pain your experiencing.

first of all i am 14 years old and i might just have a ovarian cyst thats causing lots of pain in my right side.

if i was to get this cyst removed will it reduce the chance that i will be able to get pregnant in the future? thanks

Nope, I have Pcos and discovered it when I was pregnant for my son. After his birth I had surgery to remove cysts from my ovaries. I have a daughter that was born about 2 years after the surgery, but I was on birth control up till then to prevent the cysts from growing back. Birth control is part of the treatment therapy for pcos. Good luck, I think you will have plenty of very annoying loud children to make you happy:) Careful what you wish for:)LOL! jUst kidding kids are great and I wish you the best:)

what are the symptoms of an ovarian cyst?

for the past couple of weeks, ive been feeling nauseous and by my lower abdomen area it feels like gas pressure and dull pain. it doesnt hurt severely but its uncomfortable. is this an ovarian cyst? can you give me more symptoms for it too?

There’s no obvious symptoms.
I have a couple in each ovary, and i only feel discomfort during ovulation, and sometimes during sex.

They found my cysts when i went for an ultrasound when i was getting really bad stomach aches.
Maybe you should scheduel for an ultrasound.
