I went to the doctor a few weeks ago and they said I have two ovarian cysts. My period is two weeks late and now I think my period is here. How late can your period be delayed by cysts?
You could have what is called Polycystic Ovary Syndrome or PCOS.
This is a condition that is caused by hormonal imbalances that create cysts but can also cause erratic periods or even stop them completely.
Some women also just get cysts from time to time due to temporary hormonal imbalances too which is less serious but could cause problems.
There is no exact answer I think to your question i am sorry.

I went to the doctors on the 5th because i was having bad pelvic pain. I found out that i have an ovarian cyst. I was wondering if anyone can tell me what symptoms i can expect to feel when the cyst ruptures?
Well, it is pretty obvious that "Captain Obvious" has never had an ovarian cyst burst, because if she had, she would have told you it hurts more than you can possibly imagine. I’ve had two rupture, and dang!, it’s crippling. Seriously. My doctor told me that most women end up in the emergency room because the pain is so intense. Oh, yeah, it’s possible that the cyst will not burst, but if it’s hurting now, and with every cycle the pain gets worse, then prepare yourself…it’s gonna pop, and you are gonna hurt. Afterwards, you’ll have some fullness in your abdomen, water, slushy feeling. And if you are really lucky, it won’t happen again.
I recently got a larger then most ovarian cyst. How do ovarian cysts go away? All I’ve read so far is they ‘pop’ causing terrible pain. I go to school; and I don’t want that to happen there, how embarssing would that be! My question is; how do ovarian cysts go away? Do they pop the majority of the time? What can I do to prevent popping them?
They don’t always pop. Sometimes your body just slowly reabsorbs the fluid. Other times, they do pop. Sometimes you notice that and it’s very painful, other times you don’t. From my work, I know cysts are VERY common, so I would guess that many women have cysts that come and go and don’t even know it, so I think the majority of the time they do not pop abruptly. I don’t know what you can do to avoid popping it, maybe try to avoid being hit in the pelvis really hard? Good luck!
I went to the er on tuesday thinking that I had a kidney stone. They did a CAT scan and determined that I ruptured an ovarian cyst. I have been having a type of pulling feeling on the side of the cyst along with nausea and a persistent achey feeling (kind of like when you get a cold or the flu). Is this normal? Thank you.
well since the cyst already burst you shouldn’t be feeling any severe pain anymore. I had three cysts burst in a 12 hour time frame and once they were done I felt so much better, just a little tired. your body just might be trying to repair itself now and your ovary might be a little inflamed or irritated from the rupture. usually nausea and that achey feeling just come with the cyst rupturing, they should go away soon. drink a lot of water and rest a lot and you should feel better in a few days.

I’ve had 3 cysts on 1 ovary. 1 in which was 4 cm, I went to the doctor, and with treatment (and car accident), it ruptured along with the 1 cm cysts behind it. I was fine last month and cleared of any cysts. But now the same pain I felt when I had cysts are back again. And it’s on the same side where I had them the last time. I am on my period, but my right side is not giving me as much pain as my left. When I was a freshman in high school, my Mother had a hysterectomy. They found border line tumors on numerous reproductive organs along with very large cysts. I have an appt. to see my OB/GYN on May 20th. What could be causing these cysts to re-occur. I’m almost certain it’s back.
Are you on the pill?
I have numerous painful cysts that grow and shrink every month. I actually had one that burst 2 years ago!
The doctor wanted to put me on the contraceptive pill, because it does help with ovarian cysts, but unfortunately I could not take it cause it made me nauseated!
Is rare to have malignant cysts at your age, they are usually benign!
My mother also had a hysterectomy at an early age because she had too many fibroids on her uterus causing pain!
Stay positive and remember that you can always call them back (doctors) and have them see you earlier if you are in pain and worried!…Cysts are common in young girls:-)

Best of luck:-)
what is the treatment for this? Do i need surgery?
will it affect the baby? please help
There are different types of cysts – corpeus luteum cyst is very normal and goes away by itself towards end of first trimester (that cyst also produces progesterone, which is needed to sustain pregnancy till the placenta takes over).
If not corpeus luteum cyst, then best to ask doctor. It is highly unlikely that any doctor would do surgery, and most cysts are benign / small and do not pose a problem during pregnancy. It doesn’t affect the baby at all.
Good luck.
