Cure Ovarian Cysts

You Don't Have To Suffer!

Just found out I have an ovarian cyst?

I had an ultrasound today in which they found a 1" cyst on my left ovary. How hopeful is it to still be able to have children, and does anyone know of any treatments besides birth control? I want to get pregnant. My husband and I have been trying for almost 3 years.

Don’t get too upset. Some people have chronic ovarian cysts and still conceive. Do you have any symptoms of Polyscystic Ovarian Syndrome? If you look into it and find that you have it, it will open you up to understanding more ways to conceive.

Don’t give up hope, in any case!

Could late periods be a sign of ovarian cysts?

My period has always been very regular, however for the past 6 months or so, it will be on time one month and late the next month. I’ve noticed a pattern of being late every other month. I used to get scared and think I was pregnant but now I’m thinking it may be something else like ovarian cysts since my mom has had them. Could late periods be a sign of ovarian cysts?

Irregular periods are… Late periods also can be a sign. But you need to get examine by a doctor (may be ultrasound) in order to know this for sure.

According to my prof and the text book we use here at University of Calgary (Canada), symptoms as follows:

1. Do you have a severe, sudden, and sharp pain or discomfort in the lower abdomen?

2. Do you get pains around your abdomen, during or shortly after beginning or end of menstrual period?
3. Do you have irregular periods all the time? (check for 3-4 months)
4. Have you noticed a sudden weight gain?
5. Is it difficult to pee (urination)?
6. Do you bleed abnormally close to period or after the period?
7. Breasts feel heavy or seems to be changing in tenderness fast?
8. Do you have to shave your legs and other parts of the body where you have hair more often than you used to?

If yes… then I am about 98% sure you have a ovarian cyst. But please see a doctor to get a good grip on what’s really going on.
All the best!

Is surgery to remove an Ovarian cyst an inpatient or outpatient procedure?

I have a 7.5cm cyst on my right ovary. I am 17 years old with no history of Ovarian cancer in my family.

I had a cyst removed three years ago (at 19) and mine was inpatient. I only stayed a few days though.

With your family history, you might be an outpatient, but I didn’t have any family history either (and now I have stage 2c cancer), but they still kept me. I guess it depends if the cyst ruptures or not.

FYI… It would probably be wise to ask them to run a CA125 just in case.

Good Luck and God Bless!

The Jamhole – Danni’s Laproscopic Ovarian Cyst / Tumor Surgery Part 1 of 4

This is part 1 of Danni’s surgery to have her ovary removed. This is a complete documentary of before, during, and after the procedure. She first believed it was an ovarian cyst, but once they did the laproscopic surgery, they found out it was a mucinous cystadenoma. Thanks to Northwest Women’s Health Care and Doctor Robert M. Rogers Jr. MD for getting the tumor removed, and for letting us make this documentary. Also thanks to Keith Mcnally for editing the documentary.

This is part 1 of 4.

is conceiving a child possible after removal of ovarian cyst?

my friend has ovarian cysts in both ovaries. can she be able to get pregnant after its removal? the doctor was not specific enough on the surgical treatment (whether she will remove the ovaries of just the cyst).

Usually a gynecologist can perform just a cystectomy, which is removal of the cyst while leaving the ovarian tissue intact. So she should still be able to get pregnant.

Now I need help. (ovarian cysts/cancer/treatment?) Medical people answers also wanted.?

For the last week or two I’ve had on and off type pain and it bothers me every day and is sometimes very sharp. I heard that most cysts go away by themselves (mine got smaller) but I’m concerned about ovarian cancer and there’s a huge cancer history in my family but so far no ovarian cancer and my hysterectomy was not for cancer. I read that some benign cysts will require treatment in that they do not go away by themselves, and in quite rare cases, others may be cancerous. I was diagnosed with ovarian cysts about five or six years after my (TVH/kept both ovaries) total vaginal hysterectomy. I didn’t have symptoms of ovarian cysts when they were first diagnosed and the doctor ordered the ultrasound and kept an eye on the cysts with updated ultrasounds. The last ultrasound about three years ago showed the cysts got small enough and I didn’t need further ultrasounds.

1. Anyone have advice on dealing with the pain and would heat help if surgery isn’t indicated?

2. If it’s not gas or appendicitis I’m experiencing does anyone know what can be done for them besides taking out the ovary?

One doctor I didn’t like or agree with recommended I get my ovaries removed because of the history of cysts and I didn’t see him for that problem and he refused to help me with why I went in there and think he was just trying to get more money (the wait was over 3 hours in his office).Three other doctors agreed to not take out my ovaries including my surgeon if it wasn’t cancerous as it could prevent me from going into surgical menopause.
Thanks for the info. It’s good to know a cyst can be removed without removing the ovary. A cyst on the left showed up on CT scan so that didn’t cause my pain on the right. My dr. told me to see gastroenterologist for possible bowel spasms. I was previously given a script for spasms but didn’t have anymore. The gastroenterologist’s office wanted me to wait till tomorrow (6 days after being seen by gyn) to be seen as dr. was booked solid. I also got an answer at this link everyone should see. http://answers.yahoo.com/question/index;_ylt=AkWrK0KNEPFeijkgqQyW4Wzsy6IX;_ylv=3?qid=20091118172510AA9p5Dv

A family member died from e-coli in her system which spread to all her organs and she refused to be seen by a dr. because she was to embarrassed about her weight. Had she gone in she’d be alive today. I was lucky I persisted and had them take me in that same day. I found out I had a fever (97.8) in gastroenterologist’s office being masked by Celebrex or it may have been caught earlier.

Hi. I have found a lot on information on ovarian cysts on the website below. You have had a few different opinions from different doctors. I think it’s good to get other opinions, but as long as they get to the root cause of the symptoms, and what’s going on. Usually cysts go away on their own very rarely are they cancerous. But if you are experiencing pain it might be a good idea to see a doctor about it. You wouldn’t want to have surgery unless absolutely necessary, but make sure that you have the tests needed to rule out cancer. These might be a CA-125 test, ultrasound, and a laparoscopic surgery if some of the other tests suggest the presence of cancer.

In terms of your family history, the situation that will give you the highest chance of getting ovarian cancer is women who have had ovarian or breast cancer, or both. This might mean that you have a mutation in wither BRCA1 or BRCA2, but this is highly unlikely if you don’t have any close relatives that have had ovarian or breast cancer.

I would see a doctor about your symptoms and just make sure you go with your gut and listen to your body, because no one knows it as well as you do, and only you can tell when something is not quiet right.

All the best.
